We know that Google have begun to both announce, and name their new core algorithm updates. So is that a trend that we continue with some of the more frequent and smaller updates that Google makes?
Not according to Google’s Danny Sullivan, he confirmed that aren’t (and likely won’t be) announced:
We’re constantly making updates to our search algorithms, including smaller core updates. We don’t announce all of these because they’re generally not widely noticeable. Still, when released, they can cause content to recover if improvements warrant.
What is a key factor in this quote, is that these smaller updates can help a site to recover, if it has made improvements based on issues from a previous small, or more likely core update.
